Summit Entertainment will definitely be splitting the fourth and final Twilight novel, Breaking Dawn, into two separate movies.
Deadline.com ’s Nikki Finke claims both will go into production in mid-October (just like the fall start date Robert Pattinson hinted at) and producers are seeking “high-end” directors.  Chris Weitz is not expected to return to the franchise despite fan speculation.
Rumors have circulated for months that Summit was considering making The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn into a pair of films and shooting them back-to-back to save money.  Finke confirms the split and schedule, saying it’s “definitive” and foreshadowing the impending spin from the studio.
Like Warner Bros did when chopping Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows into halves, Summit is probably polishing their “it’s for artistic reasons” excuse while it obviously stands to gain a great deal financially from two major event releases.  The first two films total $1.09 billion worldwide, »
